Shubman Gill sent three-word message to Abhishek Sharma after consecutive T20 World Cup 2026 ducks

India won the T20 World Cup 2026, thus becoming the first team to win two back-to-back tournaments, and the first to win three as well. Abhishek Sharma went into the tournament as the no.1 T20I batter in the world. However, he had a quiet tournament right till the final. In fact in hus first three matches he scored three consecutive ducks. However, he came good in the final, smashing a scintillating half-century. Abhishek has now revealed that he turned to his long-time friend, and India's ODI and Test captain Shubman Gill during the lowest phase of his T20 World Cup campaign.

At the recently concluded BCCI Naman awards, Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill had quite the funny ineraction. When asked by the presenter whether Gill gave any advice to Abhishek, he jokingly said that no one can advise the no. 1 T20I batter.

“No.1 T20I batter in the world ko kaun advice dega?" (Who’s going to advise the world’s No. 1 T20I batter?), Gill said, brushing it off while lifting Abhishek.

'Usne Bola, Tu Kar Lega'

Abhishek Sharma then revealed that he had messaged Shubman after he scored three consecutive ducks. He finally asked him to give him his bat. Gill then said that Abhishek would manage it.

“Maine hi message kiya tha isko 3 duck ke baad ke mujhe bat de de, isse pehle koi aur record bann jae(I told him to give me his bat before I ended up with an unwanted record)," Abhishek said

"Usne bola tha, tu kar lega (You’ll manage it.) " he added.

Shubman Gill funnily revealed that Abhishek Sharma always plays with his bat.

“Woh mere bat se hi khelta hai hamesha (He plays with my bat all the time anyway).," Gill replied.

When Will Shubman Gill And Abhishek Sharma Be Seen In Action?

Both Subman Gill and Abhishek Sharma will next be seen in action in the IPL 2026.

While Gill will be seen captaining Gujarat Titans, Abhishek Sharma will be playing for the Sunrisers Hyderabad. In fact, Abhishek has been appointed as the vice-captain of the team
