Former India spinner Laxman Sivaramakrishnan has rejected any connection between his resignation from commentary responsibilities and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) or current ICC chairman Jay Shah. Sivaramakrishnan clarified that the problem was with a BCCI employee.
On Friday, Sivaramakrishnan created quite a few ripples when he posted on X that he was quitting as BCCI commentator. The reasons, Sivaramakrishnan alleged was the lack of opportunities during a tenure that was of more than 20 years.

Sivaramakrishnan also alleged that he was overlooked for toss and pitch report coverages and was also not considered for post-match presentations even when someone like Ravi Shastri was the head coach of the Indian team, and not a part of the commentary panel.
Sivaramakrishnan also confirmed ‘colour discrimination’ as one of the reasons for being overlooked.
Sivaramakrishnan added that through his retirement, he wanted to challenge the production choices and the way tasks are delegated behind the scenes.
After Sivaramakrishnan’s posts went viral, fans began slamming Shah and the BCCI for the situation.
But the 60-year-old has now clarified that the BCCI administration had nothing to do with his departure and that he was simply taking charge of his own life.
"Don’t bring the BCCI Administration into the picture. It’s a one on one with an employee of the BCCI. Jay Shah and Co. have nothing to do with this issue. I am taking control of my life and I think I am entitled to do it," Sivaramakrishnan posted on X.
