How to Apply

  • Registration (31 January – 14 February, 2026) : Visit the official portal indiapostgdsonline.gov.in to complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) to receive your Registration Number.
  • Application Submission (02 February – 16 February, 2026) : Log in with your registration number and password on https://indiapost.gov.in/gdsonlineengagement.
  • Fill Details : Enter personal details, educational qualifications (10th-class marks), and select post preferences.
  • Uploads : Upload a recent photo and signature in the prescribed format.
  • Fee Payment : Pay the ₹100 application fee online, if applicable.
  • Final Submission : Preview, submit, and print the application for future reference.

Selection Process

  • Merit-Based Selection : A computer-generated merit list is prepared based on marks obtained in the Secondary School Examination (Class 10), calculated up to four decimal places.
  • No Written Test / Interview : Selection is based solely on 10th-grade academic performance, including Maths and English, and local language proficiency.
  • Document Verification (DV) : Candidates in the merit list are called for verification of original documents, including mark sheets, caste certificates, and DOB proof.
  • Medical Exam : Final selection requires passing a medical examination.
  • Tie-Breaking : If two candidates have the same marks, the older candidate or the one with earlier application, as per rules, may be preferred.
  • First Merit List : Released in March 2026, with potential supplementary lists if vacancies remain.
